Wounded Heroes USA is committed to supporting “Gold Star” Families through the Survivor Outreach Services, Fallen Heroes Family Center at the Army facility in Fort Carson, Colorado. The facility provides assistance to over 800 families.
WH USA provides an annual fishing and catered picnic for families. An end-of-year monetary donation is also provided by WH USA donors who provide funds throughout the year.
The term “Gold Star” describes a family member who has lost a loved one in military service.
Laying down one’s life for our country is the ultimate sacrifice; it is the definition of heroic. As heroic and honorable as it is, it also creates a profound sense of loss for family members and loved ones.
The mission of Gold Star Legacy is to provide support, information, and services to Gold Star family members; to promote events, memorials, and foundations in memory of their loved ones; and to encourage the public to honor and remember our fallen heroes.
