August, every year Wounded Heroes USA holds its annual Gold Star Family picnic and fishing day at Palmer Lake, Colorado, or a Fort Carson reservoir. This an awesome time for the Gold Star families to show up and relax, enjoy the outdoors, watch their children fish and play at the water’s edge and then fill up with an outstanding catered BBQ hot food lunch. They keep all the fish they catch.
